Introduction: The city of Bhuj is the most western city of not only Gujarat but also throughout India. The architecture of the Katchi design is a distinct nature of the Bhuj. The desert festival of Bhuj the Rann Utsav is popular all over the nation. The handicraft articles and the embroidery works of this city is worth appreciation. History: The city of Bhuj came into existence during 1510 when one of the regional rulers, Maharao Hamir founded it. And, further it is distinguished by another regional ruler name Rao Khengarji in the year 1549 by making it his capital. During the British rule in India Bhuj remained as an independent princely state. It became a part and partial of the Indian Territory only when India got freedom from the grip of the British Empire. This city is also known as the walled city as it was once encircled with thick stoned walls, which not retained at present.

Places of interest: The Aina Mahal built surrounded all over by mirrors, literally meaning the palace of mirrors is the major interest for the visitors to relish. It was built at the end of 18th century inside one of the oldest palace of the city. Besides the Aina Mahal there is also a pleasure pool and a museum inside the old palace fort. Prag Mahal is also an interesting place of visit for the visitors. The Kutch Museum of this place is the oldest museum of Gujarat built in 1877 by Sir James Ferguson. Swami Narayan temple and the Sarad Bagh Palace are other major tourist interest of this place.

Travel information: The climate of Bhuj is hot and scorching summers and a mild winter. Due to nearness of desert of Rann, the atmosphere of the city is also dry. The monsoon season is frequently associated with cyclones. Regarding the climatic favorability the months between October to March is the best season to visit. It will be enjoyable to visit the Rann Utsav of Bhuj while visit. This city of Bhuj is well developed in the transportation facilities. Mumbai and Ahmedabad have a regular flight operation with Bhuj.
