Introduction: Jaipur, the pink capital city of Rajasthan is the popular tourist destination of India. This city of palaces is strewn with magnificent remnants of yester years. Jaipur forms the cynosure of attraction both literally and metaphorically comprising Hawa Mahal, Olympian palace and Jantar Mantar. History: Jaipur is endowed with long, rich and colorful history. Raja Sawai Jai Singh founded this beautiful city in 1728. Being the brainchild of Maharaja, he took special interest in the designing and execution work of Jaipur. Jaipur was the capital of princely sate of Jaipur during the British rule in India. Jaipur’s true history dates back to the 12th century when the Kachchwaha clan of Rajputs arrived at the old fort palace of Amber in the Aravalli hills. The Kachchwaha belonged to the Kshatriya, or the warrior caste of Hindus, but they traced their origins back to the sun, via Kusa who was the twin son of the god Rama. 

Places of interest: Jaipur has many surprises in store for first time visitors. It is an attractive destination in the desert of Rajsthan where modernity and traditional look live hand in hand. Hawa Mahal is the major tourist attraction of Jaipur built by poet king Sawai Pratap Singh. This five-storey building of winds easily recalls landmark and icon of Jaipur. It is the stunning example of Rajput architecture style enveloped with pink look. Jantar Mantar is an amazing monument built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh to observe the movement of stars. Nahargarh Fort reflects the architectural specialty of Jaipur. Most people come here to get view of this imposing façade. Amber Fort, Gaitore, City Palace are other tourists attraction of Jaipur.

Travel information: Jaipur has hot and scorching summer, when temperature rises to 45 Degree Celsius. Those who are not used to glaring sunlight, winter can be the better time to visit this city when temperature dips to 22 degree Celsius. Monsoon is also not a problem in this city, so one can visit anytime between September to March. Jaipur is well connected to major cities of India. Airport is hardly 10 kms away from Jaipur. Number of well appointed deluxe and budget hotels and multi cuisine restaurants are available here to serve the visiting tourists.
