Introduction: The Pench National park is a well-known Tiger reserve of India. The area of this national Park is almost 758 sq km. the river Pench is flowing across the territory of this park stretching from north to the south dissecting the park into two different parts. The name of this park too is named after the Pench River. Pench National Park is located in the lower foothill of the great Satpura Range. It belongs to the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. The specialty of this wildlife sanctuary is the Tiger of this park. The Project Tiger as their 19th Project in undertook this Park in the year 1992 shortly. 

Species available: The Pench Forest is typically ranging from tropical moist to the tropical dry type of deciduous forest. The drains and the rivulets are seasonal. By the April last the Pench River normally gets dried up and this river belt become the central availability of food for the wild animals and thus the animals are highly collected in this area. Tigers are frequently spotted in this belt during this period. Animals like Leopards, Wild Cats, and Indian Civet can also be spotted in this belt. Some of the commonly seen animals during visits are Sambar, Nilgai, Chital, Jackals, Wolf, Sloth Bear, Rhesus Monkey, Langur, Gaur and Chinkara. Despite the precious Tigers and the other Animals, there is also a good quantity of avian species found in the reserve.

There are about 210 species of birds found in the jungle. These birds are of two types. Some birds are breed and settled in the park itself and some group of bird species are seasonal i.e. they are migratory. They migrate to this place whenever their favorable season arrives. Some commonly visible birds are namely Crow Pheasant, Red Jungle Fowl, Peafowl, Crimson Breasted Barbet, Bulbuls, Racket Tailed Drongo, Whistling Teal and the Magpie Robin. There are also variety of species of amphibians, reptiles and plants in the park.

Travel information: The Pench National Park is remained closed from the month of July to September considering the unfavorable visiting condition due to the monsoon rainfall. One can visit during the remaining months of October to June. The Pench National Park is well transported with all modern amenities. The Sonegaon airport of Nagpur at 92 km from the site of the park is the nearest airport to get a flight. Jabalpur is another possible airport at 192 km from the park. Regular flight is available with Delhi and other Major cities of the nation. Nagpur railway station serves the regular railway transport for the visitors of this Park. The local and nearby cities are facilitated by roadways.
